Exodus 14:13/ Psalm 46:10

“And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

Being still is a learnt behavior and we must all go through the process of learning to be still. It’s easy to move, but God asks us to be still and know him… As we journey through this short verse we will find a simple formula that can easily be applied to our everyday lives.

  1. Fearing not + standing firm = The Salvation (preservation or deliverance) of the Lord working for us…
  2. Here we find that not fearing and standing firm on all that God has already worked in our favor will cause God to not only address our problem(s) but to wipe them out. For the Egyptians represents a problem…
  3. Fearing not and standing firm/standing still (with complete confidence in our God) will allow us to witness God in action/fighting for us…

Being still requires preparation/cultivation even the Psalmist David declared, “I have calmed and made my soul quite” this is the part we play in it, simply put we have to discipline ourselves and not be easily worked up…

I encourage you on this day, learn to make your soul come into compliance with God and his will and then witness the power of being still in the midst of any situation truly resting in the fact that you know God…

Peace and blessings- jDab
