harvest-plentyJohn 9:4 “We must work the works of him who sent me…”

The word of God declares that the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, so let us pray to the God of the harvest to send laborers (Matthew 9:37). In John, we find Jesus speaking again declaring, “We must work the works of him who sent me…”

Often times we find ourselves not working the work, and it’s not because we don’t want to. Often times we find ourselves not working the work because:

  • We don’t know what the work is.
  • We don’t know his will.
  • Because of fear.

Just looking at these three points we want to identify where we’re falling short….

1. The word of God declares, “We must study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman who need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 so when we do know what the work is we’ll be ready….

2. We must know the will of God, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect…” One thing we noticed about Jesus is this, whenever He saw His Father’s will in motion He injected Himself….

3. Sometimes we know what the word of God says and we know what His will is but fear just out right paralyze us; so we have to always remember and know “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control…” 2 Timothy 1:7

With this in mind I just want to encourage you to keep it moving, keep working or start working effectively. Know what your assignment is, know His will, and don’t allow fear to keep you from being obedient….

Peace and blessings…- jDab
